Members Support VP Dallas

August 22, 2008

I was the assistant principal at Wells when Dallas worked there. I never knew a more dedicated teacher and union representative. Of course, we sometimes locked horns, but I respected Ted Dallas . We need more people like him running the union.  Ted always helped the children and he sure protected his teachers. Dallas is not a poor man and he was very generous to everyone at Wells. Why the hell would he need $6000.00 or whatever amount it was?

I am afraid that there is no room for a Dallas in our system anymore. He believed in a solid union and would take the union on strike if needed. There are no officers left who have any guts to go against the Board. Jackie must be turning in her grave. If the union members let him go they will deserve what happens.  Stewart does not have a clue on how to run a union. I think it is time for members to stand up and act like people not sheep.

I, too worked with Ted Dallas at Wells and I agree with everything Kathleen Roberts has said.  Ted has integrity and guts, something that is sadly missing in the CTU lately. Please house of delegates - do not go along with Marilyn on dismissing Ted!  DideeP

I worked with Ted Dallas at Wells and Ted is a man of integrity and "true grit", who stands up for teachers. Whenever a teacher needed help they were at Ted's door and Ted went to work to resolve the problem, advise the teachers and write the grievance. Ted believes that every teacher is part of the Union. Unlike the executive board, Ted really knows what "True Solidarity" means and would stand up to anybody...even the Mayor. Without Ted Dallas the Union will be greatly diminished.

Kudos to Ms. Roberts! Except, that not only was he a great delegate for the teachers at Wells he also supported the ESP staff. I worked with Ted for many years as well, and whenever there was a problem with one of the ESP staff members he was there to give them support and he would call their reps down to file grievenaces or he would do it himself. He went as far as to help out the other ESP members that were not in the CTU by giving them advice on what to do. Mr. Dallas is a man of his word! Wake up! We all know who the real criminals are here, and if we get rid of Dallas than that just makes us criminals as well. UNITED WE STAND DIVIDED WE FALL!  Dallas Supporter

Like many other old timers, I have many positive things to say about Ted despite the fact that we disagreed frequently. I found him to be willing to talk to anyone (unlike Marilyn) and to admit when he didn't know the answer. I called him twice for help and both times, he did research and then called me back with more information. That's a lot more than you get from most people at the Union today.  You are lucky if you can get them to answer the phone!!!!

Marilyn and her cohorts will have their day in court and I don't believe that their records will bear up to scrutiny. (If they were honest, they would have opened up their records a long time ago.)  This is just the beginning.
